Chumash Courses
The Torah is made up of two components: the Written Torah and the Oral Torah. One cannot be properly understood without the other.
Having a familiarity with the contents of the Chumash with the fundamental commentary, Rashi, is a critical key to help you unlock the door leading to the Oral Torah.
- Learn how to translate the Chumash.
- Take a crash course in the entire Chumash with much of Rashi’s commentary.
- Delve deeper into Rashi’s commentary.
Mishnah Courses
The basis of the entire Oral Torah is the Mishnah. Mishnah is made up of halachos that span the spectrum of Jewish law.
The Gemara was written with the assumption that one will have mastered the Mishnah before learning the Gemara. Many principles upon which the Gemara is based are found in the Mishnah. Without this background knowledge, one may easily feel lost. If one masters the Mishnah, he has mastered 40% of the Talmud.
Master Mishnah with the fundamental commentary of R’ Ovadia Mi’Bartenura.
Gemara Courses
The Gemara serves several functions but its primary goals are to clarify what the Mishnah means and under what circumstances its laws apply and to track the sources or rationales for the halachic views mentioned in it.
Gemara is written in a combination of Hebrew and Aramaic. Because of the way in which it was written, one who learns it must familiarize himself with its style of expression and its logic.
These courses will provide you with skills that will enable you to learn Gemara independently and with confidence.
